Why We Built This Site
Minnesota gives the public access to many court and government records, but the office that holds a record depends on the record type. Roseau County District Court handles civil, family, probate, juvenile, criminal, and traffic cases. The Court Administrator in Room 20 maintains those District Court case records and supports certified-copy requests. The Sheriff handles jail and warrant channels. The Recorder handles recorded real-estate documents, and the Treasurer/Vital Records Office handles marriage certificates.
Roseau County is in the Ninth Judicial District, so the main trial-court path is different from states that split cases across county courts, justice courts, and separate probate courts. This site keeps those local distinctions visible.

- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific Minnesota case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every Roseau County phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now
Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can identify the likely office, but the document has to come from that office.
